General Rufus Barringer
The book is out of print. Two printings sold out. I do not have any more copies. I am hoping the publisher will make a small run of hardbacks or publish a paperback version.  I see where used books are selling for $140 and up on Amazon. If you have this book, you are fortunate --- getting more valuable as times passes.

Major General Thomas Lafayette Rosser
Colonel ThomasTaylor Munford

Colonel Munford deserved promotion to brigadier general, but was passed over by others less qualified and junior in service to him.  He was a capable cavalry commander, who quarreled with his superiors, but was loved by the troopers in his command.

Williams Carter Wickham fought bravely for the south as a Confederate cavalry officer, finishing the war as a brigadier general. He also steadfastly opposed secession, believing that it was illegal. From a prominent Virginia family, he was a natural leader in the field and, late in the war, Confederate Congress. He rose from the rank of captain and after the war broke with his fellow generals by joining the Republican Party, urging compliance with Reconstruction. He became an organizer of railroad improvements and expansion, becoming leader of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and served in the Virginia State Senate.

New: July 15, 2024: I have begun researching and writing a biography of Major General Fitzugh Lee.
